In another Mythos of Mormonism – ''The Miracle of The Gulls'' is an Event which most Mormons fervently believe – was a ''sign from Heavenly Father'', of their ''place'' in what would one day become The State of Utah (US). The Event took place in 1848, in The Great Salt Lake Valley. Trying to simply ''stay alive'' in the harsh and arid Utah Desert – few crops would grow. Anything that did, was quickly destroyed by various insects, crickets and such. A final crop was grown – which if failed, would have meant starvation to Mormon settlers. As stated, crickets again began to feed on the new crops, and the entire congregation of Settlers fell to their knees to pray. As if by some ''Divine Act'' (as it is believed), a flock of Seagulls ''appeared'' and descended on the remaining crops. They devoured the thousands of insects within hours. They then suddenly flew away, their species never again seen in Utah. The Event was seen as as a ''Divine Sign'', still remembered and venerated today as ''The Miracle of The Gulls''.
