The Mantis Man

Quite possibly a huge hoax with a kernel of truth, The ‘’Mantis Man’’ is said to be an Urban legend associated with Hackettstown, new Jersey (US). Beginning in the early 2000s, reports from Hunters and Fishermen in many of the deep woods of The Pine Barrens, stated many ‘’saw’’ what appeared to be a giant ‘’Praying Mantis’’-type creature, roaming the woods. Said to be 8-feet tall, the massive insectoid Being seemed to ‘’walk and act’’ very much as a Human. When startled Hunters came across The Being, it seemed genuinely scared of being seen, and ran off, making a ‘’shrill noise’’. Conspiracy Theorists claim that ‘’Mantis Man’’ was an escaped Government Science experiment which cloned Human and Mantis DNA into such a ‘’Monster’’. Owing to the deep woodlands of The Pine Barrens, any attempt to locate the Beast has been futile (if in fact, it IS real).
