A ''Man in A Yellow Slicker''? - sound strange?...Perhaps, but this title is assigneds to a very REAL Ghost Tale associated with the now defunct Silver Mines of Park City, Utah. Since the 1880s, when The Mines were a very active and essential component of Territory Life, the Ghost Story has gained traction....even today. As the Tale goes, many Miners wore rubberized Rain Gear (coats), to keep out the water and moisture (genertated as part of the Mining Process). As it would be, a Miner went into a Silver Mine armed with a hand-held ''flame'' (torch), as a means of ''identifiying'' any Methane Pockets. With a increase of flame, One could determine the presence of the deadly gases.
As it happened, The Man (wearing a Yellow Slicker), was overcome by the gases He discovered. His body was never recovered. As One can guess, since then....His ''appearence'' (even upto the 1930s), was a ''sign'' of danger. The supposed ''last'' sighting was as late as the 1990s, when Tour Guides ''claimed'' to have seen The ''Yellow Slicker Man'' (or something) wandering in the deepest recesses of the now (long) defunct Mine. In fact, The ''Yellow Slicker Man'' has spured a ''Halloween Themed'' Party, in which some ''dress in Slickers'', hoping to ''summon'' the long dead Miner......................
