On The early morning of August 14th, 1956 ''something'' happened over the skies of England's Royal Air Force Base at Lakenheath, which is still considered unexplained. Military Ground Radar tracking picked up several Unidentified Flying Objects, bearing down on The Base. Given the heightened fears of The Cold War, the contact was seen as a probable attack from The Soviet Union. Several British Interceptors were launched to make a visual assessment. Once aloft, Radar Control ''reported'' to The Pilots that the Objects were moving at between 6,000 and 9,000-mph! Several other RAF Bases Radar Installations joined in. Triangulating their detection, The Targets speed up to an amazing 12,000-mph. What could these Objects be Even conventional ICBMs did not move that fast. Control also reported that The ''Objects'' would suddenly stop abruptly in mid-air and then speed up.

The Objects were even making angular ''turns'' not consistent with any conventional aircraft. Eventually several British ''Venom'' Fighters were able to achieve a visual on The Objects. One Pilot described them as ''Glowing Discs''. The Craft maintained a distance from the approaching Interceptors (as if not wanting them to get ''too close''). It was impossible to get a ''weapons lock'' on either fast moving and very agile Objects. At about 3 AM, The Craft were reported at a presumed speed of 600-mph when they both simply ''raced up'' into the sky and out of sight. Both Pilots returned to Lakenheath and made their report. All Control Tower Personnel did later. No findings were ever officially released to the Public for nearly 40-years. When put to task on what the encounter was, The British Ministry of Defense stated that The Pilots were chasing an atmospheric anomaly...........nothing more.
