Yet another Hampton Court ''tale'', deals with it's World Class exterior Gardens. Examples of trees. Flowers and flora from all over The World are most often not in bloom. It is also were during the 1920s renovation of a portion of The Gardens, known as Fountain Court workers unearthed a secret cloister room. Inside, the bones of several men were found. Items inside dated to The English Civil War of the 1640s).

If that were all, then fine and well. But the discovery answered a long asked question. Where these skeletons the earthly remains of The ''Knock Knock'' Ghosts. As it happened, a long term Employee occupied a nearby Apartment (as many Staff of The Court live there as well). His elderly Mother had complained for years that ''someone'' was ''knocking at the walls of the home''. Most thought the woman was simply ''old and hearing impaired''.

However, the location of the hidden underground cloister had one of it's walls roughly 100 yards from the source of what the woman complained of hearing for years. Conversely, the skeletons were found ''up against'' this wall.

It is speculated that perhaps (based on items found with the remains), that the two were soldiers in The War, no doubt Royalists who may have been killed outright or sealed inside the cloister to starve to death. Perhaps, if the later is true, their ''knocking'' were that last things they did trying to escape. Since both skeletons were properly buried, the ''knocking'' has stopped.
