The term ''Infernal Names'' (or ''Shemhamforash'') is related to Satanism (or more aptly ''LaVeyan Satanism''). Postulated by Anton LeVey in 1969 (as part of His Book ''The Satanic Bible''), LaVey outlined the ''names'' used most commonly to identify Satan (Lucifer), thru History and by Cultural ''acceptance''. Similar to The Judaic Concept of The 72 Names of God (Kabbalah), there were listed 76 such identifiers (thru History), for The Devil. LaVey went on to further cited that the mere reciting of the ''Infernal Names'' were used in various Rituals to ''summon forth'' Satanic Powers or Favors.
