The ''out of the way'' locale of Southern California's Ventura County, attracts many Tourists for the seemingly hundreds if not thousands – of Arts and Crafts venues of every imaginable sort. Local dining in some of the ''larger'' Towns is superb. Many also take advantage of the railway connections to The Town of Ojai, which is a Mecca of sorts. But aside from it's Crafts, Ojai is also an ''attraction'' for Ghosts it seems. There are several rather ''haunted places'' in Town. Two of the most are detailed as follows.

The City Cemetery (or original one at any rate), dates to the earliest of Ojai Settler to the Region. Graves go back to the 1870s and stop around the 1950s-1960s. When another larger ''Boneyard'' was built to accommodate a ''growing population'', strange reports began to surface. One in particular is that of ''The Ghost Dog''. It is said that (quite frequently), people ''hear''' the sounds of an ''animal growling'' within the Cemetery. If someone comes too close to the fences or gate, or even try to enter at night...the almost ''menacing snarl'' will be heard. Perhaps if ''was'' the pet of someone who ''passed'' and like many related stories, His or Her pet could not reconcile with the death of it's Owner. Perhaps it was determined to remain ''On Guard'' for all Eternity. Perhaps, it is ''something else?''

The other ''very haunted'' locale is the Ojai Inn. A modern Hotel located within the more modern limits of The City, The Inn was built in 1923, originally as a ''fashionable'' Golf Course. The sport was very popular with many celebrities of the 1920s thru 1940s as a ''getaway spot''. When an adjoining Hotel/Inn was added in the 1930s, it became even more so popular. Even several ''Classic'' Hollywood Films were made there. Which brings us to ''Room Five''. Room Five has it's own Spirit to keep you busy at night. While many have stayed in the Room over the years, apparently ''One Guest'' (long dead), has an issue with closing the bathroom door in the Room. Everytime it is ''closed'' it WILL reopen. Regardless of if Hotel Staff repair it, the effect continues (perhaps it is simply a structural flaw?). Ready For A Visit to Ojai?
