The  Cold War was a constant thing at The USAF Base at Haneda, Japan in August of 1952. Soviet threats (real and perceived) cause many ''false alerts'' in The Pacific. What happen on the 5th of that Month, still has never been explained – only dismissed. Around 1000 AM, Military Air Traffic Control Radars ''locked onto something'' approaching The Air Base at a very ''high rate of speed''. As was normal, an ''Alert Flight'' was launched. This was the then current F-94 Interceptor-Fighter Jet. Once in Air, The Fighter Pilot immediately picked up the fast moving Object on His Jet's on-board Radar. Voice communication was maintained with The Tower and Ground Radar. The Object was traveling in excess of 15,000-mph. At first it was thought to be perhaps an in-coming Missile. However, as The Fighter Pilot approached to within 2-miles, He saw that The Object was not in fact a Missile, but a ''bright Silvery Disk''. Withing 90-seconds of a visual confirmation, The Ground Radar (and Pilot) – noted The Object ''peel off, straight up into Space''. The speed was estimated at 25,000-mph. The Pilot was cleared to return to Haneda Air Base. Upon reaching home, He was ''met'' by Base Security. Taken to a secure area, The Pilot filed no official report and spoke of the incident to no one. All records of Radar and related telemetry vanished – all within 24-hours of the initial contact.
