A Tale from Wales, "The Hag of The Dribble" goes back to the late Middle Ages. Akin to the infamous Scottish Banshee, The Welsh version is described as a horrible looking, witch-like creature, considered quite evil. Thin of limb with "glowing" eyes, The "Dribble" was said to have long, black wing-like arms. Known to "haunt" through grounds of Castles Caerphilly and Pennard, her shrill voice is said to be a portent of doom. It is unclear what constitutes her origins. She is said to moan (literally) the loss of a child and husband. Some say they died of plague or starved to death as the result of a careless Lord who did not care for his Peasants.
