Reported on September 13, 1966 in Gwinner, North Dakota (US) Randy Rotenberger was a young man going to school in the Rural Countryside. Waiting for his bus outside on a long stretch of road at 7:30 A.M. - the boy beheld an amazing sight. He claimed that a bright Object, resembling two large bowls , suddenly started to descend in front of him! He noticed what appeared to be several peg-shaped legs underneath the Object. The Craft had several large lights on it's side that were glowing in alternating Red and Green lights. Terrified as the Object was obviously preparing to land , he ran up the dirt road (back to his house).
As his Mother was not home, he called her and told her what was happening. She told him to lock the doors to the house. She immediately called the local Police. Randy called back in several minutes. He stated that the Object was lifting up (he could see it from his window) and making a whirling noise. His Mother also claimed to be able to hear the strange noise through the telephone receiver. The Police arrived and investigated. They found 3 large (and deep) holes in the ground at the end of the dirt road (as if indeed something had landed or heavy had been placed there). A local Construction and manufacturing President also investigated (later). He determined that the size of whatever made the indentations would have to have been immense and were obviously NOT some sort of joke or hoax.
After several weeks, USAF Blue Book Investigators heard of the story and sent were sent to the reported landing site . They determined that the holes (and the report) were possibly a case of mistaken identity . They claimed not Top Secret Experimental vehicles were the cause. It should be noted that samples taken of the soil showed high levels of radiation burning (the test was conducted by the Constructions Manager). The case went into the Cold Files until the 1980s. Researchers found that the USAF Investigators lied . The Encounter was actually listed as an UNIDENTIFIED CONTACT .
