While most Nations have symbolism relating to some image of Heroism or Heraldric Device to identify their Country, The Nation of Portugal is credited with being the only such Modern Nation – whose Nation symbol is a Guardian Angel. Since a Religious Carving (Statue) was first place on a Monastery in Batalha, Portugal in 1386 – this Statue was seen to ''oversee and protect'' The Nation. An ''Angelic Being'', some cite that it is the image of Catholicism's ''Saint Michael, The Archangel'', but other point out many differences in the unnamed ''Protector''. It is stated that as long at The Statue stands, so too will the Nation of Portugal.
