An iconic figure, depicted in some form in just about every Culture, The Grim Reaper is the personification of Death. Depicted as a skeletal being, he wears great dark robes. He is most depicted with a great Scythe. This tool (much as a Farmer would use to harvest) is used to harvest the souls of those who are to die. In some Cultures (where White is seen as a Funerary color), The Reaper is seen in robes of this color. Even the color Red, has been depicted. The traditional Reaper (as we know him), was advanced in The Middle Ages as a symbol of The Black Death. He is considered neither good or evil. The Reaper has served as a primary figure in MANY stories and fables throughout history (and still is).
