Located on North Burwick, Scotland - the 14th Century Tantallon Castle was the scene of several bloody battles and sieges, from Scotland's War For Independence to The English Civil War. Once owned by King James V from 1529 to 1542, Tantallon was badly slighted by Parliamentarian Forces. Although restored in later centuries, most if the Castle are still ruins. Which brings us to a somewhat famous 2002 photograph. The view was taken from the bottom of Douglas Tower (looking upwards). No one but the Photographer was said to be present. The photo clearly shows a "person" standing inside a cell, looking down at the Photographer -obviously looking at him! The "person" is dressed in 15th Century apparel. When checked on, Castle Guide Staff stated that no one wears Period Costumes, more was and special "filming" going on. Some state that the "person" looks surprisingly like King James V! The camera (digital) and film have been scrutinized over the years. No defects or trickery could be found.
