''The Ghoul'' was a British 1933 Horror Film starring the immortal Boris Karloff. A classic, it would be released in 1934 in The US under Title of Universal Studios. Most copies were misplaced and considered lost until 1969. A copy was found, but it was of poor quality. In the 1980s a pristine copy was found in England, which most current versions were made from. A quality film with genuine chills, it is well worth a look. This was Karloff's first English Film. The Plot deals with An Egyptologist obsessed with The Afterlife. Striking a deal The God Anubis, He is lead to an Old Antiques Store. There, He purchases a Gem from an Egyptian Tomb which will promise Eternal Life, providing He is buried with it at the time of His demise. To further this ''gift'', The Prof must carve The image of Anubis into His Chest. Most of His friend think him insane, of course. Coming back to England, later The prof is hit by a car and is killed. He left explicit instructions to have His Gem (wrapped in His hand) and buried with Him.''Someone'' in His entourage feels that the VERY expensive bauble ought not be wasted in the ground and steal it. Soon after, The Prof. Rises, already ''moldy'' and seeks revenge on all His former friends, killing them all until He finds His lost ''Key to Eternity''. Will He achieve His goal of immortality before He completely decomposes
