Yuma, Arizona (US) – was a major Settling point for early Western Pioneers – enroute to California in the mid-19th Century. It would become known for another more darker reason. In 1876, The Yuma Territorial Prison was built. Arizona, not yet an American State, needed to establish a Federal Prison for Outlaws and serious Offenders. The Prison, made of stone and iron – looked more like a ''Zoo'' than a Prison. The conditions were quite harsh. Many of The ''Wild West's'' more infamous Criminals were incarcerated within it's walls. Over 3,000 Men (and Women) – were locked up inside between 1876 and 1909 (when The Prison was closed). From 1910 to 1914, the former Prison was used for a High School. It was renovated into a Museum and declared a National Historic Location in the 1930s. But Yuma Prison is considered by some to be one of the most Haunted Prisons in Arizona. Investigated many times, it is a hotbed for Electronic Voice Phenomenon. MANY ''voices'' are recorded there. Examples being such words as ''NOT GUILTY'' and ''WHY'' as wells as ''moans and screams'' came easily be recorded. Shadow Figures are a common ''sight'' – seen darting in and out of the old cells. In addition to this, many executions were conducted at The Prison (with 104 Prisoners still buried in The Old Prison Cemetery. Very ''harsh and negative feelings'' are often felt as well.
