The United States Military Academy at West Point, New York has been the leading Institution for the graduation of some of America's leading (and most famous), military Officers since 1801. It is also the site of some interesting ghost stories. The most well know is "The Phantom Officer". It is unclear as to just "who" he is. He appeared in the 1830s and was first "officially" reported in 1972. Immaculately uniformed in an early 19th Century uniform of The War of 1812, "He" is seen in various buildings. He does not speak and appears oblivious to his surroundings. He "vanishes" in the blink of an eye. Other occasions has "The Phantom Officer" being present as only a "cold spot". Another known "Resident" of The Point is a "spook" who lives and "works" in the Kitchen. Said to be the Spirit of a 19th Century Irish Cook, "He" still rattles his pots and pans. Yet another, is a fun-loving spook who constantly rearranges items on The Commandant desk. Why ever they still reside at The Point, they appear to be going nowhere soon.
