The opulent and World Class Miami-Biltmore Hotel was opened in 1926, in The City of Coral Gables, Florida (US). At ine time, it was not only the tallest Building in the entire State, but boasted the World's Largest Swimming Pool. It would become ''The Spot'' for many of The World's famous or influential People. Many Hollywood Stars of ''The Golden Age'' stayed there. In fact, US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt had a temporary White House there when He came to visit (long term). Even infamous Gangsters like Al Capone stayed at The Biltmore. It's 1,200 Rooms and other amenities were widely known. During World War II, The Hotel would be taken over by The US Government as a Services Hospital, and would continue in service with The Veteran's Administration in 1947. The massive size of the Facility also made a Home for The Miami Medical School. By 1968 though, both The Government and School had moved, leaving The Hotel abandoned – and falling apart. Purchased by The City of Coral Gables in 1972, it remained such until 1983, when it began to renovate The Hotel – in part for it's Historic significance. A private Hotel Management was brought in and began operate it. Also, a Culinary School was founded on ''Campus''. Such a varied History, huh?
But for MANY years, People have told ''story after story'' of Ghostly and Paranormal Encounters throughout The Biltmore. From ''seeing'' Famous Celebrities – like Judy Garland and Bing Crosby, to even former President Roosevelt, The Biltmore's Swimming Pool even boats it's own ''Ghostly Swimming Instructor in the guise of one Johnny Weissmuller – Hollywood's original (and most famous) ''Tarzan''. He was hired by The Hotel when as a young Man He gave Lessons (before His fame). But unfortunately, The Biltmore has it's share of non-malevolent ''Residents'' as well. As a former Hospital, some have ''heard and seen'' many ''Shadow Figures'' darting here and there – often ''throwing things''. Electronic Voice Phenomenon recordings have picked up such responses as ''Where Am I'', ''I Am Hurt'' and cries for specific people (Family?). With so many ''Haunts'', The Biltmore attracts more than it's fair share of Paranormal Investigators, and has been featured in several ''Ghost Hunting'' Television Shows.
