Lincoln Park, located near the center of The City of Chicago, Illinois (US), dates to 1843 as a place set aside for ''Public Relaxation''. It's central Lake, a hub of Summer-time activities, and rolling spaces – is visited by many. Remained from ''Lake Park'' to ''Lincoln Park'' (in honor of former US President Abraham Lincoln) in 1860 – this tranquil location also harbors ''several dark secrets. The first, a small portion of The Park was used as a Cemetery in the 1850s. When ''relocated'', many of the graves were ''lost'' from the early 19th Century AD. Without proper records, these remains were never recovered and are ''still there'' (somewhere). Later, during The American Civil War, a nearby ''Camp Douglas'' (Union Army Military Prison), was established to contain close to 8,000 captured Confederate War Prisoners (of which 4,000 died in captivity). The final ''straw'' in this ''Paranormal Haystack'', relates to The Great Chicago Fire of 1871. an accidental ignition within the mostly wooden structured City, led to 100,000 left homeless and an estimated 300 dead. Most of these ''unidentified remains) were buried at The Park – with exact records of the Mass Graves being lost. Naturally, The location is a ''hotbed'' for Ghost stories and related Paranormal Activities. Commonly, reports center around ''Ghost Orbs'' captured on film, ''Grey Mists'' moving thru The Park (said to be the Spirits of The Confederate Dead, waiting to be buried in their Homes down South). Many murders and ''body dumps'' have been known in Lincoln Park, which adds to the many reported and often ''felt presences'' there.
