The Battle of Gettysburg was an American Civil War engagement fought from July 1-3, 1863. The critical Battle sealed the fate of The Confederacy. It was also the scene of the death of hundreds of thousands of soldiers from both sides. Naturally, such an environment would serve as a magnet for unsettled souls still wandering this plane of existence. Due to their sudden and violent deaths, many think that they are unaware of their deaths and are confused. Many photos and films have been taken of possible Spirits on the battlefield and in the nearby Town. One such, shows the portion of the field known as "The Devil's Den" a notorious "killing field" in which Snipers from both sides fired upon each other. A group of Tourists visiting the site, were standing on one of the boulders, when one took a simple photograph (with a digital camera). What the Photographer saw in his photo was strange to say the least. Off in the nearby treeline is the clear image of what appears to be a Civil War soldier. In color, the details of his uniforms are quite clear. It should be noted, Gettysburg National Park does not employ "Living Historians" (Park Guides who dress in Period clothing). Further no one in Period clothing was said to be nearby.
