Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia (US) – Ferry Plantation is a brick and wood structure built in 1642. Called ''Ferry Plantation'' by locals and visitors (it is actually called ''Walke Plantation'' after it's second Owner), The Plantation was used as a Ferry Landing along The Hampton Roads Riverway. The Site has been (at various times), A working Plantation/Farm, a Schoolhouse, Tavern, Courthouse and Post Office. But throughout it's ''life'', Ferry Plantation has acquired at LEAST 11 Spirits who reside there. The many tales of ''how and why'' are numerous, but the more ''popular'' deal with a 18th Century Girl who lost Her Lover to The Revolutionary War. Grieving to Her death, She still ''waits'' for His return – wandering the halls and weeping (ever so softly). When in service as a Courthouse, one of the last persons to be convicted of Witchcraft in Virginia – was tried and convicted there. ''She'' – or at least some very negative energy, is felt roughly where Her trial was held (1st Floor). In addition, the sounds of ''dragging chains'' (possibly shackles), are often heard in The House. In the yard, a rather grim looking Oak Tree still stands, which many claim is VERY haunted by the many Ghosts of those hung there. For more, a ''Lady in White'' Phantom is often seen on the 2nd Floor as well. ''She'' was a member of The Walke Family, and fell (or maybe pushed), down the Main Stairs – to the bottom – breaking Her Neck. Finally, Her Husband – a Painter by Trade, is seen on the 2nd Floor as well, often still admiring the many portraits and landscapes which still hang from the walls of Ferry Plantation.
