As we have previously discovered, Mental Hospitals (or Asylums), are natural magnets for Spiritual and Paranormal Activities. Years of tormented souls, often mistreated result in some very haunted places. Aradale Mental Hospital in Victoria, Australia qualifies as well. Built in 1864 with it s doors opening for service in 1866, Aradale was composed of 63 buildings. The Institution was it s own Town , with it s own Power Station, Gardens and Commerce structures. Craftsmen and Traders also made Aradale completely self sufficient . Aradale made use of a building style called Ha Ha Walls . Built high, but recessed into a deep trench, it would give the appearance of less of a confinement Facility by presenting a false ground level. It was also able to be flooded at a moments need, in the event of a massive breakout .

It was rumored that Doctors performed unprofessional and experimental surgeries on many Patients, often resulting in death. Many hundreds of unquestioned and unexplained deaths were recorded over the years. The Facility was officially closed as a Mental Institution in the 1990s with the ground being renovated into a Polytechnical Institute by 2001. Students report seeing Shadow People as well as screams in the night. Spectral Orbs are quite common as are the traditional Cold Spots throughout The Campus. The Facility has been investigated many times by Paranormal Investigators (some on live TV). All have concluded that Aradale is indeed a hotbed of restless Spirits.
