Fenton Bridge has the distinction of being the tallest covered Bridge in The United States. 85-feet long and 30-feet high, The Fenton Bridge is located in Fenton, California (near Santa Cruz). Constructed of wood with a steel interior skeleton, The Bridge was a major transit point for Commerce traveling from Northern California to The South. Built in 1892, it remained so until it was closed in 1937, under mysterious circumstances. Although the persecution of Witches ended in 18th Century America, The Bridge was said to have been the scene of the lynching of a Modern Witch. Said you have occurred around the turn of the 19th to 20th Century, soon after any one traveling through the Bridge would meet with death or tragedy within 24-hours. This was said to have been the real reason Fenton Bridge was closed in 1937.
