An interesting tale from the heart of London, England, is that of The Old Woman of Threadneedle Street. The story involves none other than The Bank of England. The incident which crested the "Ghost", involved Phillip Whitehead. A Bank Clerk, he wad said to have been caught forging checks in 1811. A rather harsh sentence was handed down by Magistrates. He was hung! His Sister Sarah refused to believe her Brother committed the crime. She went into the Bank everyday demanding justice. Once she wad banned from entering, Sarah wand wet ed up and down Threadneedle Street, forlorn. He always wore black. In 1836, Sarah dropped dead in the street. But Sarah's tale does not end there. Every so often, Sarah is still seen wandering Thread needle Street, her dark form darting from shadow to shadow in front of The Bank of England.
