The Ghost of Michellham Priory

 Michelham Priory, located in East Sussex, England – dates from the 13th Century AD. The Augustine Order maintained it, with Brothers living there for Centuries. The Priory was seized under The Dissolution Act of 1537 (under King Henry VIII – when He split from The Catholic Church). Abandoned, any remaining possessions and The Priory itself, was gifted to Thomas Cromwell (Friend and Chief Minister to The King). Unfortunately for Cromwell, King Henry had a short ''friend-span'' and had Him beheaded for Treason. Slighted in The English Civil War, only a small portion of the original Church survived. Used by Canadian Troops as a training field during World War II in the 1940s, it was not until a wealthy benefactor purchased the grounds and began to restore it back to it's 15th Century appearance. A fine example of early religious building style and how Religious Orders lived and worked, Michelham Priory is visited quite often by Tourists. However, local Residents well know about the MANY purported ''long term'' Guests which still live inside The Priory....these would be The Ghosts.

Several in-depth Paranormal Investigations have been allowed to be conducted inside The Priory. While nothing about these ''contacts'' have been ''Evil or Malevolent'', The Priory seems to be VERY active with regards to Electronic Voice Phenomenon, high Energy ''spikes'' registered on Magnetic Field Readers, etc. It is quite common to ''hear'' doors ''opening and closing by themselves'' as well as ''Shadow Figures'' wandering throughout. But perhaps one of the most controversial pieces of ''evidence'' is a 2003 photograph of what appears to be an actual ''Ghostly Brother'' of The Priory. During the 2003 Investigation, night (light sensitive) cameras were set up in what would have been The Common Area used by Brothers to consume their meals. Tables and chairs as well as other Medieval artifacts are displayed. After The Investigation, when the film was examined – there, ''sitting'' in a Chair was a very clear (and apparently ''solid'') figure of what appeared to be a ''Monk in His Religious Robes''. More perplexing, The ''Monk'' appears to be ''staring into the camera''. As usual, the digital camera was examined for defect, without any being found. Real proof or a clever hoax?
