Even 80 odd years after Her disappearance over The Pacific Ocean in 1937, the name ‘’Amelia Earhart’’ is still well known. An early Female Aviation (Pilot) Pioneer, Earheart set (and broke), many Records in Flying. But in 1937, on the ‘’first leg’’ of Her attempt to circumnavigate The World via a Pacific Ocean Route, she and Her Navigator Fred Noonan would vanish. In this, Her ‘’Legend’’ as to ‘’what really happened’’ to her would prevail even today. But to Staff and Students of both Purdue University and Purdue University Airport, Amelia is still very much ‘’alive’’ – in a manner of speaking.

It has been well spoken of for many decades – that Earheart’s ‘’Spirit’’ is still seen and heard from. In the first part of Our Tale, We look into Purdue University. Although not a Graduate of the well known University, Earhart was an Adjunct Teacher and Instructor in The Aeronautics Department (when She was not off making ad breaking Records). In fact, the (then) small Airport nearby and eventually owned by Purdue University, was where Amelia worked on Her Aircraft BEFORE Her fatal flight in 1937.  It was in the still standing (but long renovated) ‘’Hanger 1’’ that She and Noonan worked to prepare for their History setting Flight.

Long after Her and Noonan’s disappearance – strange events began to happen around The University. Amelia, it seems – was very fond of typing. For many years thereafter, Staff would report the ‘’faint’’ sound of typing. When investigated, nothing was amiss – save some Students who stated that the letters ‘’AH’’ (over and over again), were found typed on some papers. But this stopped when typewriters fell out of ‘’vogue’’. But Earheart’s ‘’Spirit’’ seems to be most happy (and experienced) – in Hanger 1. For years, people have reported ‘’seeing’’ a Woman ‘’dressed in 1930s clothing, with a short bobbed haircut (a favorite trademark of Earhart). Some ‘’encounters’’ described the ‘’Entity’’ as being ‘’just as real as if you were looking at a person’’, other contacts – ‘’a whisp or fleeting glance of someone’’. Earhart spend 2 years working in Hanger 1 – so it would be understandable as to just ‘’why’’ she would be ‘’drawn’’ there.

A real example of ‘’Life After Death'', or ‘’Urban Legend’’ perhaps to garner attention? The Ghost of Amelia Earhart is – as always, a matter of YOUR ‘’perspective’’………………
