The Fatima Event

 Sunday, October 13, 1917. A memorable date for some UFOlogists. It was on this date in Fatima, Portugal that either God or Alien Visitors, allowed themselves to be seen by many of thousands of people in the light of day! YOU BE THE JUDGE.......


3 small children had been reporting that they had been in contact with an apparation that they claimed was The Virgin Mary. She had revealed herself to the children on several occasions. She gave them instructions on future events . The Catholic Church did not denounce them (but they didn't necessarily believe them, either). However, MANY in the Region DID (after all, look at the case of Marie Soubirous of Lourdes and how THAT turned out). The children were told to assemble people at a specific spot, on a specific day to witness a miraculous event . On Sunday, October 13 between 30,000 and 100,000 people assembled.


After several hours of waiting, many began to grow impatient. Could this be a hoax Almost as suddenly as the idea spread, a severe and hard rain began to fall. The ground became a muddy mess and people were soaked to the bone . The rain then stopped. People began to point up towards The Sun. It appeared that The Sun was moving left to right and was emitting red, blue, yellow and orange lights . The Sun flattened out and appeared to be coming toward the Earth closer! This spectacular light show continued on for several more minutes, before The Sun appeared to settle back into a normal shape and pattern . Further, to the amazement of the crowds, the ground (and their clothes) were completely dry!


Believe it or not, someone ACTUALLY photographed The Event. There were many photographs taken of the reactions of the crowds (before and during The Event). Unfortunately, given the state of photographic equipment, no photos were taken (or likely could have) of The Sun. These photographs have been greatly studied and reexamined with Modern equipment. The photos do show changes in the light spectrum and facial expressions that could NOT have been staged. There were further no reports of Solar activity or other phenomenon reported (Worldwide). Thousands of the crowd were later interviewed by both Religious and Scientific sources. All stories are consistent. Many cite Mass Hysteria or extreme Religious fervor . Still, examining the photographs, what must wonder, What was the crowd LOOKING at ?
