Perhaps one of the more ''celebrated'' Exorcisms of Christian Prophet Jesus Christ's Public Ministries, ''The Exorcism of The Gerasene Demoniac'' was first recorded The Western Holy Bible's Books (Gospels) of Mark and Luke (New Testament). The tales also sets forth the first usage of the term ''Legion'' (which We have previously discussed). Christ received word that in ''Region of Gerasene'' (Northeast of Jerusalem), people were ''terrorized'' by a ''Wild Man''. This ''Man'' had the ''strength of 20 Men, and ranted and raved, spurting foam from His Mouth''. This person ''lived'' on the outskirts of a small Community, in a Graveyard. Christ went to The Man and – upon sighting Christ, began to ''shake'' and ''speak in a company of voices''. The ''Man'' decried Chirst, demanding to know ''Why He had come''. Christ invoked the now common Ritual Practice of demanding ''The Name'' of The supposed Entity which had obviously afflicted The Man. ''It'' identified itself as ''Legion'' and further stating that ''many such Evil spirits afflicted The Man''. The current Ritual for Exorcism states that once a Demon is forced to identify it's ''true self'' (name), it will began to lose hold of it's ''charge''. Christ ordered ''Legion'' into a herd of nearby Pigs, who then charged of a nearby Cliff, to their death. The tale is seen as the beginning of The Roman Ritual of Exorcism and often used by Christians to establish God's Power over Evil.
