The ''Elephant Stomp''

''Death by Elephant'' was a popular 13th Century method used in India by Sultans and Rajas alike. Known as an ''Elephant Stomp'' - The Elephants in question would have specially made spiked foot attachments applied to their massive feet. These particular Elephants were apparently “trained” for this procedure (although they may have simply been War Elephants, previously trained in this tactic). A victim was staked to the ground (splayed). On the command, the elephants would proceed to “kick and stomp” the victim. Eventually, The Victim was torn to pieces. Usually, the “pieces” were picked up by the elephants and “tossed” to the crowd.
