The Dungavron Whooper

An oft told Tale in the Timber Lands of Canada, The Dungavron Whooper began around the 19th Century. According to Legend, an Irish Cook named Ryan, was hired by a Logging Captain to cook for his Crew through Timber Season. With The Crew gone, The Captain noted that young Ryan was wearing a money belt which appeared well stocked. With no one around, The Captain bashed Ryan;s head in killing him instantly. When the Crew returned , The Captain said that a Bear had attacked and killed their new Cook. The Group buried The Cook in The Forest. However, every night thereafter, The Crew stated they hears a terrible Whooping noise. Some Crewmen went to investigate and saw the Spectre of The Cook (bashed Head and all), wandering through the woods searching for his Gold. Legend persists that Ryan still wanders the Woods in search of his Money. Also, since no one is quite sure just where he was buried, his unmarked grave adds even more fuel to the annoyed Ghost of Ryan.
