Another worthy "addition" to the realm of "Out of Place" Artifacts, is the story of The Dorchester Pot. The tale goes back to 1853 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Excavation of The Meeting House Hill, in Dorchester, Massachusetts was undergone for the railroad. As such, explosives were used to shatter the Hill, which was composed of "Puddingstone" Rock. A conglomerate stone consisting of a mixture of pebbles and solidified sand, samples were estimated (using the available technology of the time), at an age between 570 and 593 Million years. Leveling the Hill, while workers were gathering up the hundreds of fragments, a strange sight was uncovered. One rock fragment had what appeared to be a fused piece of metal sticking out. Curious, the workers chiseled the fragment open to find a large Silver "Pot" encased in the center of the fragment. Cleaning the piece, revealed not a "Pot", but a highly engraved candle stick holder. The story reached the pages of The "Scientific Atlantic" periodical. Although photography was still in it's infancy, no photos were taken (but an illustration was provided. Many felt that the candle stick was proof of a much older and highly advanced civilization having existed millennia before on the North American Continent. Of course, others quickly cried hoax. The artifact soon vanished as did the story. That is until the year 1895. The American magazine "Readers Digest" published a story on The Dorchester "Pot", also providing a highly detailed illustration of the artifact. Hoax, Time Travel evidence or Vortex "refuge" (perhaps something else ). One day, someone may come forward with The "Pot".
