Perhaps an example of early Hoaxing, the very unusual document known as ''The Devil's Handwriting'' dates to 1523 AD in Italy. One Ludovico Spoletano was a Scholar of The Occult. It was said that He conjured the very Devil Himself, to ask ''Him'' questions and answers to ''immortal questions'' from The Past and of course – The Future. Which spells or sacrifices were made are unclear, but ''Old Scratch'' himself was said to appear to Spoletano. Picking up quill, The Devil ''wrote'' the answers to His questions. Since that time, many Experts in Handwriting and Languages over the Century have come to one conclusion, No one can effectively decypher or translate the weird writing. Making matters even more bizarre, in Centuries past, any attempt to erase The Handwriting, are futile. It simply wont erase. However, no further tests have been allowed since the 18th Century. A ''curiosity piece'' from The Past designed to make you laugh.....or is it exactly what is is claimed to be.....''The Devil's Handwriting''.
