Reported since the 1800s in and around Washington D.C. (US), The Demon Cats is said to live underground in the long forgotten tunnels and passages of The Capital Building. Once, the tunnels were used to store caskets to be used for fallen Union soldiers. Cats and other vermin have been known to inhabit the tunnels. It is said the tormented spirits of soldiers who died returned as demonic felines with glowing eyes. If one sees The Demon Cat is is bad luck (almost always accompanied with the death of the person). Other variations of the myth, place The Demon Cat with the spirit of Native Americans who were killed during the many battle with Colonists in the area.
