An unusual religious ceremony indicative to Northern Regions of The South American Nation of Venezuela, ''The Dancing Devils'' is part of the quasi-Catholic Ritual of Corpus Christi (''The Body of Christ''). As part of the celebration of The Eucharist, as was tradition, a Priest and various associates, presented The Host (bread), to Believers. Then, the Ceremony would take place during The Mass as required. However, in several Towns in Venezuela in the 1740s – had no money and no ability to buy or convey The Eucharist. Angered, He warned His Flock, that ''Devils would come and torment them'' until the condition was made right. It was said that several ''Demons appeared and tormented those attempting to enter The Church''. Since that ''Event'', local Townspeople took great pride in replicating costumes and masks of ''The Demons'', often parading in front of The Corpus Christ procession as a ''warning'' of proper maintenance of The Sacrament.
