The Cydonian Face

Another very hotly debated Subject among "Believers" in Extraterrestrial Life, is the Case of the purported "Humanoid Face", visible from the orbit of The Planet Mars. First imaged in 1976 by NASAs Viking I and Viking II Orbiters - it's discovery immediately gave rise to the "fact" that Ancient and intelligent Life once existed on "The Red Planet". The first images were not the best. Photography of this nature was still in it's ''infant technological stages''. But clearly, the photographs showed a monolithic structure on the Plains and Mesas of Cydonia. Instantly, NASA Scientists delivered the "real" cause of the image. They claimed it was simply Pareidolla. The process occurs in the Human Mind when it "sees" something it cannot immediately understand. Strange or unknown images "become" something that can be easily processed as "identified". The "effect" is well known with certain Religious "visions", and more simply...when one "looks" at seemingly "shapeless" clouds. However, NASA refused to re-task future Satellites and Orbiters, to substantiate "their" proof. Why so Finally in 1997, another series of "Face" images were released. Sharper in clarity, they did nothing to further or disprove EITHER "sides" opinion! By accident (or perhaps by design), the 1997 Photos additionally showed what appeared to be a series of Pyramids and structures NEXT to The Cydonian "Face".  Again, NASA claimed Pareidolla. Later, Geological "Experts" cited Centuries of intense Martin winds were responsible for the "anomalies". To date, the controversy still rages. In addition to The "Face", NASAs most recent Mission, "The Rover" (an unmanned Planetary-based Survey Vehicle), has transmitted back to Earth, photographs that clearly show "other Artifacts" which shouldn't "exist". Could all of these things clearly point to the fact that Mars at one time, had a thriving Civilization If so, two questions come to mind. What happened to them and why is the truth being suppressed.
