An ''Instrument of Martyrdom'' for The Apostle St. Peter, Peter (as a Leader of Christians), violated an Order of Exile to The City of Rome, and as such was executed as a ''Traitor'' and Insurrectionist, by being nailed to a wooden Cross, as was customary for Roman Criminals of this classification. As with Jesus Christ in Judea was executed, Peter felt He was not ''worthy of the honor'' and requested His Cross be inverted. His request was so honored. The Inverted Cross became Peters symbol, and was a highly revered as such since the 2nd Century AD. Many Protestant Religions still use The symbol today. However, Satanist's ''claimed'' The Inverted Cross as a major component of their belief system. Seen as the ''opposite'' of Christ's ''righted'' Cross, it is typically Black in color. In addition, Satanists often placed an image of Christ likewise inverted, as a means of mocking Him and Christianity. Such statues attached also have His ''Head'' turned downward (towards Hell).
