''The Creeping Terror'' was a 1957 Black & White Sci-Fi-Horror Flick well within The Drive-In, ''B''-Movie vein. A ''strange'' Story (which could have been visualized better), The Tale centers around a Group of Explorers searching out ''The Cave of The Dead'' on a Caribbean Island. The Group finds a Legend of ''Walking Deadmen'' who mourn and wail constantly inside The Cave. What they really find is an hereto unknown primitive and somewhat intelligent parasitic fungus which consumes ''higher'' Lifeforms and takes them over using them as their ''Hosts'' (ala The ''Zombie Ant''-Fungus Species).

The ''Deadmen'' are really Islanders who had either touched or otherwise consumed (unknowingly) The Fungus. The Group become trapped inside The Cave and almost become the next Hosts. After a series of silly explanations, The Group wisely determines that should The Fungus be able to interact with the outside Air (of The Cavern), The Fungus could take over The Planet. The Group seals The Cave with explosives after the required Horror Movie loss of most of The Cast. While The Fungus ''effects'' look more like soap suds, The ''Fungus Men'' were somewhat well done. Naturally, ''The Creeping Terror'' did not fare well with Critics. It can still be found in Public Domain or in the ''Cheap Bin'' of your local Movie Store.
