The Crawfordsville Monster

This story unfolded in 1891 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Apparently, this horrible and frightening apparition suddenly appeared in thin air over two Delivery Men going about their work. Said to be 18-feet high and 8 feet wide, it was said to look like a giant snake. It had an huge mouth (full of fangs). A huge red eye was placed in the center of the mouth. It had fins that moved in a twirling fashion . The men described the creature as appearing to be suffering in agony . They followed the floating monstrosity out of town and watched it disappear above the local woods. The men related their story to the local Authorities and a Methodist Minister (all of who did not believe them). Could it have been some kind of Inter-dimensional Being?
