Located in the vaults of The State of Kentucky's Historic Society, located near Frankfort – is a rather unusual Chest of Drawers. No Museum in The State wants to display it due to it's equally unique curse. Built by slaves in the 1830s, their Master was a particularly cruel taskmaster. So enraged by His treatment, that The Slaves brought in a ''Conjure Man'' (Witch Doctor). The Chest was covered in Owl's blood as a sacrifice and the ''curse'' was laid.

While The Master himself did not suffer, He watched as His Family did. A newborn child would die soon after birth and another who grew to manhood would be stabbed to death. Wife, Brother and others of The family – all met with violent ends. The Chest was locked away in an Attic and stayed there until the 1890s, when later Family Members found it and began to place their clothes inside it's cursed drawers.

This branch of The Family were like wise cursed. Again a newborn baby died under ''mysterious causes'' and others suffered marital infidelities and death from ''strange illnesses''. All this was attributed to The Chest. Eventually it was given to The State (in an Estate Auction). The State did research on The Chest. No doubt many laughed. But to make sure, the piece is NEVER loaned out to other Museums and is securely locked away......as a precaution?
