The ''Coming Race'' (also known as ''Virl, The Coming Race'') was a late 19th Century Sci-Fi Novel written by Englishman Edward Lytton. As a serving Member of The British Parliament, Lytton published his work as ''Anonymous''. The Book first published in 1870, was worthy of Jules Verne and related writers. So popular, that ''Virl'' may well have served as a cornerstone for the later Nazi secret Society known as The Thule. Although ''Fantasy'', much of what Lytton wrote bears some scrutiny. The tale involves a wealthy young Geologist who finds a hidden World populated by ''Angelic Beings'' of great intelligence and scientific abilities. Their very description was what intrigued future Nazi. Tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes, both sexes were ''perfect in physical development''.

Lytton wrote of a magical fluid known as ''Virl'' This substance was the very heart of The Beings existence. The fluid not only ''ran'' their machines (of incredible abilities) but was also responsible for their evolutionary development. The ''fluid'' sounds very much like a form of ''nano technology'' suspended in a form of ''living plasma''. The popularity extended to various medicine makers of the late 19th Century, claiming medicine called ''Virl'', which promised extraordinary curative effects (all based on the popularity of The Book). It served no wonder that when Then Thule Society learned of The Book, they thought (or expanded on the theory that ''Virl'' was real). The ''Middle Earth'' (or Hollow Earth) Theory had long been speculated at. It has been thought that Nazi expeditions to The Arctic in the 1930s, were to find this mythical ''Aryan Race'' and to secure the marvelous fluid. Others cite that they did in fact ''discover'' such a formula, but were unable to duplicate it. Several copies of ''The Coming Race'' were held at Thule Meetings almost revered as ''The Holy Bible''.
