A well documented Spectral Case from 1760s London, England, The Cock Lane Ghost involved a small home located on Cock Lane. In the 18th Century, a young girl by the name of Elisabeth Parsons (living in the residence with her family), claimed that a Spirit would communicate with her on a regular basis. In addition, this Spirit (known affectionately by the girl as Scratching Fanny ), would cause all kinds of Poltergeist manifestations (flying plates, breaking drinking glasses and by several accounts, an unearthly scratching heard throughout the house (in the walls and on the roof). According to Parsons, Fanny was murdered by a Nobleman (possible one who used Fanny for fun with the expected unfulfilled promises that the relationship had!) When Fanny proved to be more trouble than she was worth The Nobleman poisoned her (although no clear cut answer as to wear her body was placed was ever given). For sometime, The Family would charge a fee for strange and terrifying shows within the home. It was later proven that Parsons was a fraud. However, to this day (and although the house has been renovated and rebuilt many times) strange phenomenon STILL occur.
