The ‘’Cave of The Oilbirds’’ (named for a species of Bird which produced oil from their skin and feathers much sought out by Tribesmen)– properly known as The ‘’Cueva De Los Tayos’’, is located within The Morona-Santiago Mountain Range of The Andes (Ecuador, South America). The nondescript Cave came to light to Historians around 1973, when it became mentioned by the infamous Erich von Daniken. Von Daniken was known for Books dealing with Extraterrestrial Lifeforms visiting Earth in ancient Times and quite possibly even influencing Human development. In His Book, ‘’Gold of The Gods’’ – He stated that The Cave (made of Limestone and Shale in composition), was ‘’carved with laser-like precision’’. The local indigenous Tribes were more closer to ‘’Stone Age’’ in tool development, and could not have cut the opening, let alone the several 200 to 300-foot Tunnel, which leads toa Central Chamber. It is in this Chamber, Von Daniken stated – that a ‘’series of paper-thin golden plates were found, which unknown writing’’. Along with other ‘’golden artifacts’’, He speculated that The Cave was an ‘’Alien Storage’’ Site. And while some pre-Colombian figures were found, to date – no evidence of the ‘’Golden Paper’’ had been found. Further, Science states that the ‘’perfection’’ in the cutting of The Cave was made by Eons of erosion and a simple ‘’odd phenomenon’’ of ‘’Mother Nature’’. Students of The Cave, cite that it was The Government who stepped in and ‘’removed’’ all evidence – even closing off The Cave (currently) from viewing and any further expeditions.
