The Cannon Air Force Base Incident

Another Case of Government deniability, The Cannon AFB Incident ranks in the top 10. Located in Clovis, New Mexico - the encounter was said to gave happened on January 21, 1976. The Case came to light in 2004.The Base is home to an Interceptor Squadron, tasked with National Defense. On the night in question (12:45 AM), a local Reporter was on his way home, when he saw a series of strange "lights" moving in the direction of Cannon AFB. Although not unusual to see lights in the sky over the Base, these particular "lights", looked strange.

The Reporter drove closer, curious for a possible News story. Roughly 2-miles out, he saw an amazing sight. The closer he got, the more defined the now 2 Objects appeared. They were described as "Disc shaped", glowing Blue on the bottom with a glowing domed top. The Objects appeared to he flying back and forth over The Base. Pulling over about 1,500 yards from the Base Main Gate, The Reporter noticed The Gate Police were watching the phenomenal light show in the skies. Within minutes, he heard a rumbling in the Westernext sky, approaching The Base. It was two Air Force Interceptors!

As soon as The Fighters were about to make contact with The Objects, they "shot up" at a 90 degree angle at an incredible rate of speed. The Objects appeared to fly off, Fighters in pursuit. However, within seconds, The two Craft turned towards The Fighters, as if to engage THEM! Just as both sets of "Lights" and "Jets" were about to collide headlong, the "Craft" against shot up into Space in a burst of speed. The Fighters followed, but could not obviously continue their pursuit.

Being a good Reporter, the Witness had the foresight to snap a photo of the encounter. In this was the sorcerer of many years of "trouble". His story was printed and he became somewhat of a "Celebrity", with local Television News programs. The Government denied the incident, of course.Then the harassment began. Late night telephone calls (hang ups), led to unknown voices threatening his life if he continued to talk on the subject. His car was vandalised as wad his home. Deciding to publish the photo, which showed the two Interceptors approaching the Objects over the Base. Locked in a wall safe, he prepare to "break the story" to the World. Then in 1977, the Witness had his home burned down, the result of a mysterious and unexplained fire. Nothing was left. What was strange, was the steel wall safe (incapable of being destroyed by fire (was missing).
