The Bluetongue Lizard

According to The Warlpiri Tribe of aboriginal Australia, ''Bluetongue Lizard'' is a Tale of a Man who gained ''great Power'' regarding ''Earth Magic''. He learned this from a Kangaroo Spirit who took a liking to Him. Telling Him the secrets of The Universe, The Bluetongue Lizard (His Tribal Name), became very powerful and very disliked (due to His knowledge). His Sons became jealous when He refused to share this, and they planned to kill Him. He turned into a Kangaroo (to blend into nature). Unfortunately, The Sons accidentally killed The Bluetongue's friend instead. So angry, The Man sent a ''burning Pillar of Fire'' after His Sons to exact revenge. The Sons ran and ran for many weeks to avoid The Fire. So tired of being hunted – they fell into a Salt Lake and drowned. The Warlpiri Traditionalists still have a ''Fire Ceremony'' today – to honor ''Bluetongue Man'' (who was never heard from after the affair).
