Built in 1586 as a defensive Fortification on The Isle of Malta, Verdala Palace was originally the Headquarters and home of The Knights of Malta (formally St. John), Grand Master. A major fixture to both the local populace and Knights themselves, it was not until the 18th Century, that the Legend: began. Grand Master Emmanuel de Rohan took up traditional residence in The Palace. He had a young Daughter who was in deep love with an undesirable Man (according to her controlling Father). Fearing she would elope, he locked his daughter in a Tower Attic. Although she had free access to clothes and food, she only requested Blue Dresses (the favorite color of her Beau). As the months passed, so too did her anger towards her Father. One day, a Servant forgot to lock her Door. She quickly escaped to the top of the Tower. Realizing her Father would never let her free, she jumped to her death. Since then, The dubbed Blue Lady'' is seen on occasion wandering the Halls of the massive Palace, searching for Peace.
