The Blenhelm Incident

On July 13, 1959 in the quiet farming countryside of Blenheim, New Zealand Mrs. Frederick Moreland was out and about at 5 A.M. She and her husband ran a small farm for sheep (and crops as well). Their farm property ran right up to a beautiful Lake. Going to her Barn to commence with the morning milking of the cows , she noticed it was somewhat overcast. She didn't even give it much notice when she saw the glimmer of two Green lights - appear in the could cover! Eventually catching her notice , Mrs. Moreland began to see what appeared to be a Disc-shape , coming out of the clouds (and over the nearby Paddock and Lake front). Stopping what she was doing, she began to walk toward her Paddock. She said that the Object was now clearing defined as a large, multi-saucered Craft .

It was still glowing with a strange Green color , but the closer she got, she could discern White and Red lights underneath the Craft. She estimated the size to be 40 yards in diameter! This large Disc hovered over the Lake (slowing turning). Mrs. Moreland also noted the reflection the Craft made in the water. The water of the Lake was perfectly still and it appeared to look like two Crafts . After several minutes, the Object inverted itself . Still over the water, Mrs. Moreland could now see a bright Yellow light shinning from the top of the Object. After 10-minutes of watching , Mrs. Moreland stated she heard the roar of Jets coming in from the North. She looked up in the sky higher and saw (she reckoned) 4 military-type Fighter Aircraft overfly the Lake (and the Object). On the second pass of the Fighters , the Object emitted an Orange light or beam .

The sounds of the Jet engines stopped . Mrs. Moreland noted that the Jets flew pass (seemingly operation normally just dead silent!). After the Jets left , the air around her (and the Lake), seemed to warm up VERY quickly . The Object began to glow with the Green Glow again. The Craft resumed a Saucer shape and rose VERY quickly (and by her account VERY high). She lost sight of it as it rose up into the clouds. Mrs. Moreland told her story to her Husband (who convinced her to report it to The APRO UFO Investigative Group.
