1957s US-Mexican ''Monster Movie'' in The ''B''-Film realm, ''The Black Scorpion'' is typical fare of The Era. An earthquake causes a fissure to open in The Earth, releasing a millennium old Hive of Prehistoric Scorpions. The massive Monsters quickly escape from their cavern and proceed to make up for many lost dinner dates, by dining on The Town's People nearby. And although their Cave is sealed by The Mexican Army, enough of The Scorpions survive to take the ''War'' to Mexico City proper. After causing much havoc to The City, The Army deploys electric munitions which eventually the last of The Giant Scorpions. While ''Stop-Motion'' Effects were used for the totality of The Film, several Giant Puppets were also employed for close-up work. These pieces were somewhat comical is appearance. A Drive-In ''Terror'' for several years, copies are now somewhat hard to find (but can be found).
