A local Legend, the so called ''Black River Monster'' is a ''resident'' of The Black River. The 125-mile long stretch of waterway goes from Lake Ontario (Canada) to Jefferson County, in Upstate New York. Since 1951, locals report that a 70-foot, ''Black Serpent, with Gills''. The Monster has never been photographed, but witnessed swimming in The River and long it's banks as late as 1987. Perhaps a form of ''Giant Freshwater Eel'' (as is the general theory), the quest for proof of The Monster goes on.
