Regardless of ''if'' you believe Betty Andreasson's story is up to you. But Her ''encounter'' on January 25, 1967 – and that of Her Family of 9, is quite unnerving, if it really happened. Betty was – on the night in question, in The Kitchen washing dishes. Her Mother, Father and (7) Children were in The Living Room of their modest House near South Ashburnham, Massachusetts (US). Suddenly, the lights of The House began to flicker. There was no pending storm or related wind. What was the cause? The ''reason'' was forthcoming. Suddenly, a ''Red Light'' began to shine through The Kitchen Window! So bright, it's illumination (glow) reached The Living Room. Betty's Father was so alerted, and went to look out the Main Living Room Window, outside. What He saw – shocked Him. The Father saw what He later described as ''5, small Beings''. Easily classified as ''Greys'' (Species), all wore a type of Blue Overall. Each Being had but 3-fingers. What was also noted, is that on each Overall, was the image of an unspecified ''bird'' (winged creature). Betty came running from The Kitchen to The Living Room Window and saw the sight as well.
The Beings were not walking but ''floating'' above the ground. Everyone inside The House suddenly ''felt'' as if they could no longer move their feet or legs and were in fact ''frozen''. Betty and Her Father ''watched'' as The Beings simply ''floated thru'' their Front Door! The next thing Betty remembered was that She too was floating (in the company of 2 of The Beings) – thru Her door and outside – towards was appeared to be a ''saucer-shaped Object''. Betty felt great fear for Her Family. This ''fear'' was interpreted by Her ''captors'' who said to Betty (in Her Mind) – that ''Her Family nor Her would be harmed in any way''. Betty recalled later of being subjected to a variety of ''tests'', all the while being ''talked to mentally'' by The Beings. One in particular was slightly taller than the others, who Betty (felt) was ''The Leader''. After a period of time (which was later determined to be 4-hours), Betty and Her Family were taken home. Betty was aware that Her and Her Family were back inside their House – in The Living Room, but all were still in a strange state of suspended animation. Betty noted a Being was left behind – as it to ''monitor their recovery''. As the Family began to ''stir more'', The Being simply disappeared.
The Event so bothered Betty and Her Family, that Betty would answer a National Advertisement put out by none other than Dr. J. Allen Hyneck (noted UFO Studies Pioneer), to interview persons who had encounters and possible abduction stories involving Aliens and UFOs. Originally, Hyneck's Office did not answer Betty's Letter (thinking that Her story was ''too improbable'' to be real). It took 2 years of pleading to get Hyneck involved. He no doubt was glad He did in the finale. Placed under hypnotic regression to retrieve ''loss memories and experiences'', Betty faithfully related Her encounter several times, by different administering Doctors – exactly word for word (a rare event in itself). Betty's Family too did not deviate from their perceptions as well. In the end, Hyneck would conclude that ''something traumatic'' did happen to Betty and Her Family. ''Something'' which to this day has never been adequately explained.
