The Colonial American Massachusetts Bay Colony was governed by one John Winthorp. History records Him as a capable Leader and One who would not (and could not), construct the following of what many UFOlogists ''cite'' as America's ''first'' UFO Encounter. It was The Year of Our Lord, 1639. Winthorp wrote in His personal journal, a report form several ''credible and upright'' Men, who while rafting down The Charles River, ''saw'' a ''wonderous, bright Light'' – in the sky, which seemed to follow the Men from high in the air. The Object would move at incredible speed and was even reported over nearby Charlestown (about 2 miles away). The Object ''darted as an arrow'' and then ''slowed to a snail pace''. The ''Light'' seemed to be under ''Control'' by unseen Forces. After several ''minutes'' of observing the ''wonder''. The Light slowing faded to a pinpoint and vanished. However, the Men reported that during this time, they had traveled nearly 2-miles farther that they thought. It was as if The ''Light moved them the distance traveled''. So what just exactly did the Men see and experience?
