The Angel of Hadley

In a very bizarre Colonial American piece of mythos – The Township of Hadley, Massachusetts (US) is host to the legend of how a ‘’mysterious Angel’’ came to defend Townspeople from a vicious Native American attack, during King Philip’s War of 1675. Hadley was a small ‘’frontier’’ Village with a rude wooden palisade, and very few men to defend it. The Town population was mostly Women and Children. When a hostile Native American Force of 300 Warriors came t0o burn down The Town and slaughter it’ inhabitants, it was said that a ‘’giant Angel’’ appeared with a ‘’gleaming Sword in hand’’. The image of this ‘’supernatural Entity’’ so sacred The Warriors, that they fled in terror – never to attack again. The ‘’Angel’’ promptly ‘’disappeared’’. And while MANY explanations can be given for ‘’what’’ really happened, other than the historical proof of an attack on Hadley in 1675 – no ‘’official’’ records mention the divine ‘’Savior’’.
